Two terrorists who targeted the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) headquarters near Ankara have been killed, with security forces continuing to search for a third assailant, according to Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.
The attackers stormed the facility during a security shift change, killing four people and injuring 14 others.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed the casualties, while authorities have restricted media coverage of the incident.
Unverified social media videos showed heavily armed special forces responding quickly to the attack.
Yerlikaya revealed that one of the dead attackers was a woman, and unconfirmed reports suggest that the third assailant may have detonated an explosive device.
The minister stated that investigations are underway to identify the attackers and their possible connections to designated terrorist organisations, with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) being a prime suspect.
Reports of hostages being taken inside the facility have not been confirmed by Turkish officials.
