Alice Robinson made history by securing New Zealand’s first-ever alpine ski world championships medal, earning silver in the giant slalom in Austria.
The 23-year-old finished just behind Italy’s Federica Brignone, who claimed gold with a combined time of 2:22.71.
Robinson, second after the first run, delivered a determined performance on the challenging spring-like snow conditions to finish in 2:23.61, holding off the field until Brignone’s final run.
The silver marks a career milestone for Robinson, improving on her previous best of fourth in 2021 and continuing her strong form after a recent World Cup victory.
