The Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) has issued a firm warning that any NRL player, agent, or club official who signs or negotiates with the Saudi-backed rebel rugby union competition R360 will face a 10-year ban from all ARLC-sanctioned events.
The commission said the policy aims to protect the integrity and future of rugby league from “unrecognised competitions” that exploit the sport for profit without investing in player development.
ARLC leaders described R360 as a threat seeking to “pirate” the game, stressing their duty to safeguard rugby league’s professionalism, accountability, and long-term stability.
