The New Zealand Breakers have been strengthened ahead of their final NBL26 regular season games against Cairns and Adelaide with the return of Sam Mennenga from a fractured wrist and NBL Next Star Karim Lopez from injury clearance.

Mennenga has been a standout performer this season with career-best numbers across multiple statistics and is shortlisted for major league awards, while Lopez is also in award contention.

Their return is a major lift for coach Petteri Koponen’s side as they prepare for both the Round 22 clash and the Ignite Cup Final, although the team will be without import guard Izaiah Brockington due to a hip flexor injury, while Tai Webster remains a game-time decision with a calf strain and development player Tukaha Cooper has been added to cover roster gaps.
