The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs returned to winning form with a hard-fought 8-12 victory over the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville, powered by a sensational NRL debut from Jethro Rinakama, who scored a try and ran for 207 metres.
Despite trailing 8-0 early, the Bulldogs surged ahead just before halftime with tries from Jacob Preston and Rinakama.
The second half saw no points scored, but the Bulldogs’ defense held firm under pressure, highlighted by a crucial try-saving effort from Viliame Kikau and dominant defensive work from Rinakama. The win marks the Bulldogs’ 12th of the season.
