Manchester United have confirmed that midfielder Casemiro will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the current season, bringing an end to a three-year spell at Old Trafford.
The 33-year-old Brazil international arrived from Real Madrid in 2022 for £70 million and went on to make 146 appearances, playing a key role in United’s 2023 Carabao Cup triumph by scoring in the final against Newcastle and helping the club finish third in the Premier League that season.
His future came under scrutiny last year after co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe publicly questioned the value and performance of some senior players. Despite the impending exit, Casemiro said he remains fully committed for the remainder of the campaign.
