Chiefs overpower Brumbies in high-scoring Super Rugby clash

The Chiefs maintained their perfect start to the Super Rugby Pacific season with a commanding 49-34 victory over the ACT Brumbies in Hamilton.

Locked at 15-15 at halftime, the game exploded after the break, with tries from Quinn Tupaea and Gideon Wrampling, who made an immediate impact off the bench.

Though the Brumbies fought back with scores from Lachlan Lonergan and Adam Muirhead, Wrampling’s second try ensured the Chiefs held firm. Anton Lienert-Brown also bagged a double, and late penalties from Damian McKenzie and Josh Jacomb sealed the win.

The Chiefs now prepare to face Fijian Drua in Lautoka but may have concerns over McKenzie’s knee injury.
