New Zealand ultramarathon star Ruth Croft has etched her name in trail running history by becoming the first woman to win all three UTMB World Series Finals, clinching the prestigious 100-mile UTMB Mont Blanc race in Chamonix, France.
Battling freezing rain, snow, and a stacked field led by three-time champion Courtney Dauwalter, Croft surged ahead at the 100K mark and never looked back, finishing in 22 hours, 56 minutes, and 23 seconds.
Already a past winner of the CCC 100K (2015) and OCC 50K (2018, 2019), Croft’s victory marks not only a personal milestone a decade in the making but also the first UTMB win by a New Zealander. French runner Camille Bruyas and Germany’s Katharina Hartmuth completed the women’s podium, while Britain’s Tom Evans triumphed in the men’s race.
