Manchester City and the Premier League have ended their long-running legal battle over associated party transaction rules, agreeing the regulations are valid and binding.
The settlement halts costly court proceedings that began after City challenged amendments they argued were unlawful.
The rules, designed to prevent inflated sponsorship deals linked to club owners, were toughened in 2024 despite City’s opposition. While both parties declined further comment, City still faces a separate disciplinary case over more than 100 alleged breaches of financial regulations, which the club denies.
