Maroons storm back to thrash Blues and force State of Origin decider

Queensland produced one of the most explosive second-half performances in State of Origin history, overturning a four-point halftime deficit to crush New South Wales 24-44 at the MCG and level the series at 1-1.

Trailing 12-8 at the break, the Maroons carried momentum into the second stanza after crossing just before halftime. What followed was a relentless attacking blitz, with Queensland piling on 36 second-half points, including a devastating run of 24 unanswered points, to leave the Blues reeling.

Captain Cameron Munster orchestrated the comeback with a commanding display, while Selwyn Cobbo ran riot on the wing, crossing for three tries. Halfback Sam Walker controlled proceedings superbly and was rewarded with player-of-the-match honours after landing all eight of his conversion attempts.

The emphatic victory sets up a winner-takes-all showdown at Lang Park, where Queensland will look to complete the comeback and reclaim Origin supremacy on home turf.
