Nawaqanitawase shines but Roosters fall to Eels in costly defeat

Mark Nawaqanitawase produced two brilliant try assists and several crucial defensive efforts, but his individual heroics could not prevent the Sydney Roosters from a 30-10 loss to Parramatta.

The Eels continued their strong form under Mitchell Moses’ direction, capitalising on the Roosters’ league-worst 58 percent completion rate. The Tricolours’ night worsened when halfback Sam Walker suffered a concussion early after a heavy collision with Kelma Tuilagi, ruling him out under Category 1 protocols and sidelining him for next week’s clash against Melbourne.

With the defeat, the Roosters slip further into a tense battle for the final playoff spot against the Dolphins, Sea Eagles, and Tigers.
