The Wests Tigers have suffered a heartbreaking 20-21 defeat to the Brisbane Broncos at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, with veteran halfback Adam Reynolds slotting a late field goal to seal the result.
The Tigers started strongly, controlling possession and territory early as Taylan May marked his return from injury with the opening try, helping the hosts to an early advantage. Despite their dominance, Brisbane responded with three first-half tries to take an 18-14 lead into the break, capitalising on key moments including a late surge just before halftime.
The second half saw the Tigers lift their defensive intensity and regain the lead through captain Api Koroisau, who capped off a strong individual performance with a crucial try.
However, the Broncos edged back into the contest with a penalty goal before Reynolds stepped up in the 70th minute to calmly land the decisive one-pointer. Standout efforts for the Tigers included Jahream Bula extending his try-scoring streak to four matches and Terrell May producing a dominant display through the middle with over 200 running metres.
Despite outgaining Brisbane and creating multiple attacking opportunities, the Tigers were unable to hold on in the closing stages as the Broncos snatched victory in a tense finish.
