Scott Robertson has stepped down as Head Coach of the All Blacks following the completion of New Zealand Rugby’s 2025 end-of-season review, with NZR confirming an immediate process to appoint a new coach.
NZR chair David Kirk said the mid-point of the Rugby World Cup cycle was the appropriate time to assess progress, noting the demanding 2026 schedule and the 2027 World Cup as the ultimate focus, and confirmed both parties agreed Robertson’s departure was in the best interests of the team.
Kirk thanked Robertson for his long-standing contribution to New Zealand rugby as both a player and coach, praising his commitment to putting the All Blacks first, while NZR said further updates on the recruitment process would be provided in coming days ahead of the team’s next fixtures in the July Nations Championship in New Zealand.
