Sideline brawl halts school rugby match as police called to Auckland Grammar grounds

Auckland Grammar - De La Salle College news

A schoolboy rugby match between Auckland Grammar and De La Salle College was abandoned after a violent sideline brawl involving parents, spectators, and players broke out following a red card issued late in the game on Saturday.

The fight, which reportedly involved over 20 people, escalated when De La Salle players allegedly joined in, prompting a police response. Although no injuries were reported and no charges laid, the incident has been referred to the Auckland Rugby Union. Both schools issued identical statements citing an ongoing investigation and a commitment to safety, while police confirmed no formal complaints had been made.

  1. Was a good school back in the day seems the new patrons aren’t of the same caliber .What a crying shame to bring shame to yourself & the school & that’s those that started it on the sideline. As for the kids they should’ve walked off in disgust instead of joining in
