South Africa secured a 32-15 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield in a hard-fought Autumn Nations Series opener.
Despite being down a player after Scott Cummings’ early red card, the hosts kept themselves in contention, battling resiliently and pressing the Springboks for much of the match.
Makazole Mapimpi’s two first-half tries gave South Africa the edge, yet Scotland’s forwards held strong, with full-back Tom Jordan making a standout contribution.
However, missed opportunities proved costly for the Scots, and the Springboks’ powerful bench eventually sealed the win, capped by Jasper Wiese’s last-minute try from a dominant scrum.
