Warriors outplayed as Sharks pile on pressure in 36-22 loss

The Warriors have been beaten 36-22 by the Sharks.

Cronulla ran in six tries, repeatedly exposing the Warriors’ right-edge defence, while Will Kennedy’s double and further scores from KL Iro, Billy Burns, Teig Wilton and Sione Talakai underlined the home side’s control.

A hat-trick from Dallin Watene-Zelezniak—including a brilliant 80m intercept and an improbable finish—was one of the few bright spots, but errors and missed tackles halted any momentum.

The Warriors started well and opened the scoring through Watene-Zelezniak, but a Boyd error shifted the tide as the Sharks carved them up, leading 24-12 at halftime.

The visitors showed brief fight after the break with Watene-Zelezniak’s third, but further mistakes and clinical Cronulla execution sealed the result, with late injury concerns to Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Luke Metcalf compounding a tough afternoon.
