Warriors sink Dolphins in thriller to climb ladder

The Warriors climbed back to second on the NRL ladder with a hard-fought 20-18 Anzac Day win over the Dolphins in Wellington, sealing victory through Taine Tuaupiki’s decisive second-half try after a high-scoring opening period.

With the Dolphins leading late, Tuaupiki broke through in the 62nd minute in a play that also saw Tom Flegler sin-binned for a high, off-the-ball hit that forced Ali Leiataua from the game.

The result marked the Warriors’ third straight win and a rare Anzac Day success, while the Dolphins slumped to a fourth consecutive loss, despite another strong showing from prolific winger Alofiana Khan-Pereira, who continued his remarkable try-scoring run with a first-half double.
