William Byron claims second consecutive Daytona 500 victory in overtime thriller

In a dramatic and chaotic finish, William Byron secured his second straight Daytona 500 victory after a late-race crash reshaped the final lap.

With just one lap to go, Denny Hamlin, who was leading, spun out following contact with Cole Custer and Chase Briscoe, triggering a wreck that took out multiple contenders.

Byron managed to avoid the chaos and sprinted to the checkered flag, with Tyler Reddick, Jimmie Johnson, Briscoe, and John Nemechek rounding out the top five.

The race, which faced two rain delays, saw multiple crashes, including a terrifying airborne wreck involving Ryan Preece, though all drivers walked away safely.

President Donald Trump also attended, marking his second visit to the iconic event.
