Streameast, the world’s biggest hub for illegal live sports streams with over 1.6 billion visits last year, has been shut down following a joint operation between anti-piracy group ACE and Egyptian police.
The site offered pirated streams of major events including Premier League football, Formula One, and MLB games.
Authorities arrested two men near Cairo, seizing electronics, cash, and links to a UAE shell company allegedly laundering millions in advertising revenue.
ACE hailed the closure as a landmark victory against digital piracy, though experts warned the crackdown won’t end widespread illegal streaming driven by high subscription costs and fans’ demand for free content.
