The online retail platform announced the termination on Saturday, citing violations of the Shopify Partner Program Agreement.
Shopify stated as of 3 October 2022, EPROLO will be removed from Shopify and will no longer be functional on merchant stores. No specific reasons were given, although Shopify explained:
Decisions to terminate app partnerships are carefully considered and made when we are confident that the apps cannot meet our standards for quality and merchant experience, or are not able to comply with the policies in place for maintaining merchant experience, trust, and reliability.
The app has already been removed from the Shopify app store. Shopify recommended users migrate to DSers-AliExpress Dropshipping or Sup Dropshipping apps.
The move appeared to come as a surprise to EPROLO management. A tweet on 4 August stated [sic] ‘Shopify store team does not explain the reason. Why delisting the EPROLO app’. The company confirmed the API was still working and encouraged Shopify merchants to continue using the app while they actively communicated with Shopify over the issue.
