President Joe Biden’s decision to grant a full and unconditional pardon to his son Hunter for tax and firearm-related convictions has triggered widespread criticism from lawmakers across party lines.
The White House defended the move, citing “political persecution” against Hunter as the motive for the charges.
However, Republicans accused Biden of abusing his power to shield his son, undermining the justice system, and setting a dangerous precedent. Prominent GOP figures, including House Speaker Mike Johnson and Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, decried the pardon as an effort to avoid accountability amid ongoing allegations of corruption against the Biden family.
Some Democrats also expressed disappointment, arguing that the pardon sets a troubling example for presidential powers and tarnishes Biden’s legacy.
The controversy has reignited debates about presidential pardon authority and the balance between personal and public interests. Critics pointed to parallels with past pardons granted by Presidents to their own family members or allies, claiming the potential for misuse.
Even Democratic leaders like Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Representatives Ro Khanna and Greg Stanton voiced their concerns, saying there was a need for reforms to restrict pardon powers. The pardon adds another layer of scrutiny to Hunter Biden’s past, including allegations of unethical and corrupt foreign business dealings in Ukraine and China.
The most corrupt pea brain ever to have occupied the Whitehouse. Rigged elections have consequences.
“Even Democratic leaders like Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Representatives Ro Khanna and Greg Stanton voiced their concerns, saying there was a need for reforms to restrict pardon powers…”
Oh I’m sure they did lol! Now that Biden’s done it (and will probably do it for many others over the next month and a half), it’s time to pretend they give a 💩 about the “rule of law” and change the constitution so that Trump can’t issue similar pardons 4 years from now when he’s about to leave office. Remember, that Jack Smith scumbag left a legal loophole open which allows him to resume all of his BS investigations as soon as Trump’s term is over. The intention is obviously to have leverage to hold over the Orange man all throughout his next presidency. So watch for more Dems wringing their hands about how it’s so important that presidential pardons be “reformed”, and watch the RINO’s on Trump’s side do it also. It’s all just part of the script.
The cold hard truth is that none of the Bidens were ever going to prison anyway. Hunter’s laptop has been out for half a decade at this point, and it’s been OVER a decade since Joe was on camera bragging about firing the Ukrainian prosecutor looking into his son and Burisma. Washington DC protect one another and will continue to protect one another no matter who Trump has running the FBI or acting as attorney general.
Don’t fall for the “ah shucks, Biden got away, we need to reform these laws” from the entrenched DC politicians (on EITHER side). It’s all calculated and fake.
