Yemen’s Houthi rebel movement has confirmed that its self-proclaimed Prime Minister, Ahmed Ghaleb Nasser al-Rahawi, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Sanaa alongside several ministers, including the foreign, justice, youth and sports, and labour ministers.
The Israel Defense Forces said the strike, carried out within hours of receiving intelligence, targeted a gathering of senior Houthi leaders, leaving others seriously injured.
While Rahawi, who held the largely symbolic role since August 2024, was eliminated, the group’s top decision-makers, including leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, were not among the casualties. The attack comes amid heightened tensions, as the Houthis continue to launch missiles at Israel and target shipping routes in support of Palestinians.
May they rest in peace. Yet more victims of the genocidal Israeli regime.
