Thousands rally in Manhattan amid controversy over ‘Global Intifada’ chant

Thousands of protesters marched through midtown Manhattan calling for a “global intifada,” a phrase widely condemned as incitement to violence against Jewish communities.

The demonstration, organised under the ‘Stand with Gaza’ banner, featured chants and signs demanding an end to U.S. aid to Israel.

The slogan, increasingly used since Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack, has drawn bipartisan concern, with legislation introduced in Congress to designate it as a ‘call for antisemitic violence’.

New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani faced criticism for not directly condemning the phrase, while lawmakers stressed the need to denounce rhetoric linked to past terror campaigns that killed thousands of Jews.

Not only in Gaza, but through usury, condemned by most religions ( but not by protestants though) condemning people to death by famine.
