The search for British broadcaster Michael Mosley has intensified after he went missing on the Greek island of Symi while on holiday.
Mosley, known for his TV programs and BBC Radio 4’s Just One Thing podcast, was last seen on Wednesday after setting off for a walk. The search operation, involving 25 people including police, volunteers, and firefighters, resumed on Friday morning with additional reinforcements, including a helicopter from Athens and drones for difficult-to-reach areas. Mosley’s phone was found at his accommodation, and his wife Clare reported him missing.
Local authorities are focusing their search efforts in the Pedi area, where a woman reportedly saw Mosley on Wednesday. Despite extensive efforts, including reviewing CCTV footage, firefighters have expressed doubts that Mosley is still in the area, suggesting he may have taken an alternative route or fallen into the sea. The challenging conditions, with rocky terrain and temperatures soaring above 40°C, have made the search even more difficult.
Mosley, a well-known advocate for intermittent fasting diets and author, is being supported by his family and the British Foreign Office.
