Auckland-based labour hire firm Prolink NZ, now in voluntary liquidation, owes $4.01 million to creditors, including $2.43 million to Inland Revenue.

The company is under investigation by Immigration New Zealand (INZ) following complaints from migrant workers alleging exploitation and unpaid wages.

Liquidator Pratesh Patel reported questionable financial transactions, including an $80,000 withdrawal by a director before liquidation.

Prolink NZ lost its accredited employer status, impacting its 188 employees, many of whom seek open work visas. The case highlights systemic issues within New Zealand’s Accredited Employer Work Visa scheme, which has faced thousands of complaints and widespread fraud reports.

  1. AEWV must go! INZ have blood on their hands! This abomination of a scheme has caused so many problems! The main one being NZers missing out on jobs and huge delays in the resolving problems process – it’s a corrupt system and INZ should be held accountable!
