Grammy-winning R&B artist Michael Eugene Archer, known as D’Angelo, has died at 51 following a battle with cancer, his family confirmed.
The influential musician, credited with pioneering neo-soul through his fusion of R&B, hip-hop, and jazz, released three acclaimed albums including Brown Sugar, Voodoo, and Black Messiah. His sensual hit Untitled (How Does It Feel) became iconic for its minimalist one-shot video.
Despite personal struggles and a long hiatus, D’Angelo returned to music in 2014, earning another Grammy.
