Ukrainian streaming platforms have begun removing episodes of Game of Thrones that feature Russian actor Yury Kolokolnikov, following a government decision to add him to a national security blacklist, local media reported.
Kolokolnikov, who portrayed Styr, the Magnar of Thenn, in the fourth season of HBO’s hit series, was designated by Ukraine’s Culture Ministry in August as a person posing a threat to national security. The ministry cited his participation in film projects reportedly financed by the Russian state.
As a result, episodes and films featuring the actor — including The White Lotus Season 3, Tenet, and Kraven the Hunter — have been removed from Ukrainian streaming services. Viewers attempting to access these titles are now met with the message: “This content cannot be viewed in Ukraine,” according to screenshots published by local outlets.
Ukraine’s State Film Agency has instructed media distributors to block access to the affected titles and is in talks with international platforms about extending the restrictions.
Kolokolnikov, who has appeared in numerous international productions, continues to work in Hollywood and European cinema. His recent credits include Caught Stealing and The Last Frontier (both 2025).
Since the start of the Ukraine conflict in 2022, Russian artists and cultural figures have faced widespread bans and cancellations abroad. Moscow has condemned such actions as “Russophobic censorship,” warning that attempts to erase Russian culture will not succeed.
Na, they banned it because of the dwarf 🤣
