Michelle and John Wylie’s 2021 South Ayrshire wedding gained an unexpected guest whose puzzled expression in their photos sparked years of mystery.
Despite questioning family, friends, hotel staff and even appealing on Facebook, no one could identify the stranger.
The breakthrough came when internet sleuths, including content creator Dazza, joined the search.
The man was revealed as Andrew Hillhouse, who had accidentally turned up at the wrong venue while rushing to a different wedding nearby.
Realising his mistake only when the bride walked down the aisle, Hillhouse said he felt too awkward to leave mid-ceremony and tried to blend in until it ended.
