The latest Taxpayers’ Union-Curia poll shows National slightly up 1.4 points to 29.8 percent, while Labour is down 1.0 point to 33.4 percent, with support rising for all coalition parties and falling for all opposition parties.

New Zealand First surged 3.9 points to 13.6 percent—its highest level in this poll series—while ACT is up to 9 percent, giving the coalition a projected 65 seats, comfortably enough to form a government, compared to 55 for the opposition bloc.

Labour, the Greens, and Te Pāti Māori all lose ground, while The Opportunity Party sits at 2.6 percent outside Parliament.

In preferred prime minister rankings, Chris Hipkins leads on 21.7 percent despite a dip, followed by Christopher Luxon on 20.5 percent, with Winston Peters rising to 12.1 percent.

The poll of 1000 respondents was conducted between 1–2 April 2026 with a margin of error of ±3.1 percent, and reflects a shift back toward the government bloc, though New Zealand First remains pivotal in determining who could ultimately form a government.

    • Just wait a month.
It is all about the ‘confidence’ of the people, and that can/will turn on a heel.
They are retarded, to answer your question, but sheeple go baaahhh when hungry.

    • The choice is either retarded or poor.

Luxon ignored the massive loss of people living in NZ.

Hunt you down Hipkins isn’t an option for sane. I voted Act last time. I am leaning towards NZ First. Perhaps with a little more power Winston can push a bit more through.

  1. Even without the vaxx stuff, Hipkens has proved disastrous with education, the police and not knowing what a woman is and publicly saying that, was embarrassing for the entire country!! Why would anyone want to have that as a leader! Crazy

  2. I am quite sure If a new vaccine or a lockdown was ordered, population compliance would reveal just how little influence government has over this nation.

Hunt you down Hipkins hasn’t changed his opinion. He must never have any further chance to tell us what to do.

Luxon is finished because he hasn’t considered people have a free choice to leave NZ to get ahead. This added to the poor economic performance.

The rising parties are Act and NZ first..

    • Unfortunately the sheep/Karens & Kens will flock into a frightened mob and obey.

Hipkins is a sock puppet, to be replaced by another, makes no difference who.

Luxon is a teal politician, as is any likely replacement of him.

Act will never be what it could’ve been (a 20% party), had they genuinely been a libertarian force, Seymore failed the test during covid.

NZ first has no credentials beyond Winston, likely implode.

  3. NZ Loyal is the only party honest enough to run this country every party in parliament pushed for the poisoned vax how could you trust any of those payed off puppets.

  4. It doesn’t matter the outcome, the only winner is the foreign owned/controlled New Zealand Company and its church parliament.
