Four charged over Auckland Pride Festival protest

Four people have been charged in connection with a protest at the Te Atatū Community Centre during the Auckland Pride Festival on 15 February.

Police have filed assault-related charges, including indecent assault, against three victims, with further charges expected for five additional victims.

A 67-year-old man faces charges of indecent assault, two counts of assault under the Summary Offences Act, and one count of assault under the Crimes Act.

A 28-year-old woman has been charged with two counts of assault under the Crimes and Summary Offences Acts, while a 19-year-old woman and a 50-year-old woman each face an assault charge under the Summary Offences Act.

The accused have been granted bail and are set to appear in the Waitākere District Court on 18 March 2025.
