Four dead, ten injured in targeted mass shooting in California

Four people were killed and ten others wounded when a gunman opened fire during a family gathering at a banquet hall in Stockton, California, on Saturday evening.

Deputies arrived shortly before 6 p.m. to find both adults and children among the victims, with early indications suggesting the attack may have been targeted.

The suspect remains at large as detectives and the FBI investigate a possible motive. California Governor Gavin Newsom has been briefed, and emergency services are working with local authorities.

Stockton’s vice mayor said he was “devastated and angry,” calling the incident at a child’s birthday celebration a heartbreaking example of senseless violence.
