Christopher Luxon has secured his position as Prime Minister and leader of the National Party after winning a confidence vote within his caucus—one he initiated himself.

The meeting, which ran for more than two hours, came amid internal concerns from some MPs and declining support in recent polling.

Following the vote, Luxon said the outcome reaffirmed his leadership, stating he had the backing of his caucus.

He described the discussion as open and constructive but declined to take questions from the media. Luxon also dismissed ongoing speculation about his position, signalling he would not engage further and considers the issue settled.

  1. Political theatre, and not even good political theatre, which undoubtedly will thrill the fake “democratic” parties in the Beehive as they marvel at their own navels and wallow in the cesspit which they’ve convinced themselves smells of roses.

  2. The MSM are and always have been gunning for Luxon – right from before day one. He had a grilling yesterday in a way Ardern never had. In fact, if she’d had the same grilling there would be cries of “misogyny” and “only a woman would be asked the questions in that way” or “a man isn’t treated the same”. Like him or not, he isn’t a career politician but I think really does want to make a difference and having had a couple of casual conversations with him in the past -know that he remembers you which is an amazing feat. MSM are screaming for a labour led govt I suppose to get another $50m in handouts. Meanwhile – actual journalism dies a slow death – leaving podcasters and amateurs to do the job properly. What a state of affairs.

    • I have nothing personal against the guy, but his Indian trade agreement reeks of globalist bribery/corruption and the kind of government betrayals we’ve seen all over the west for the last 20 years. It will turn New Zealand into another version of the UK, and utterly ruin the place forever.

I don’t want that, doesn’t matter how nice a guy he might be in real life.

You’re 100% correct on the filthy MSM and their treatment of Ardern.

    • Remind me again which political party was cheering on Ardern and Labour during COVID. Even signed a letter of endorsement and talked about coercing the unemployed and others on benefits into taking the jab. Why anyone would feel sympathetic towards just another bunch of back stabbing globalists, is beyond me. As for this so called trade deal, it will simply see us become “new India” and Australia quite sensibly close its borders to us as public pressure on their globalists grows. Pressure to limit immigration after COVID is how Labor Australia got re-elected. People saw how limited immigration during that period took the pressure off Australia public services like hospitals and saw housing prices settle.

      • It was ALL the political parties cheering Ardern and Pfizer on. All of them. Bloody disgusting.

Agreed on the Indian trade deal, but I think Aus actually has a bigger immigration problem then we do (for NOW anyway).

  3. Look also at the currency market; low when people thought that Luxon was going to be bowled-over, but since the caucus kept Luxon as the PM, the Kiwi Dollar shot-up!

Just like what happened with John Key just before he quit being PM and hauled-ass for another bank Job..at the orders of his Zionist Bankster Kontrollers!
