A 45-year-old man will face court today on charges related to a serious attack at a McDonald’s in Auckland.

At this stage he faces a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The incident happened last night at the Stoddard Rd restaurant in Mt Roskill, prompting a significant police response following reports of a stabbing.

One person was hospitalised with critical injuries, while another was arrested.

Detective Senior Sergeant Ash Matthews confirmed the victim was in critical condition. He told legacy media it was an isolated incident between family members and that there was no further threat to public safety.

Police will have an increased presence in the area during the ongoing investigation.

The scene included emergency services attending to a victim and visible blood inside the restaurant.

    • Auckland is also migrant central for NZ, but we’re not supposed to talk about that. We’re supposed to just remain quiet while all the things that apparently never happen just keep happening 😉👍
