Assistant Commissioner Mike Pannett has been appointed a statutory Deputy Commissioner of New Zealand Police following a lengthy selection process, Police Commissioner Richard Chambers has announced.

Chambers said Pannett brings ‘integrity, leadership experience and a diverse policing background’ to the role, including extensive work in organised crime, intelligence and national security. He said the appointment allows him to begin rebuilding the organisation’s senior leadership team after ‘a challenging period’.

Pannett has served in the Police for more than 40 years and is currently Assistant Commissioner – National Security and International. His career includes senior roles in Auckland and Northland, a term as Southern District Commander, and leadership of intelligence operations at a national level. He was also National Commander during the 2019 Christchurch terror attacks.

Between 2020 and 2023, Pannett was seconded to lead the Australian Federal Police International Command, becoming the first officer sworn as an Assistant Commissioner in both Australia and New Zealand.

Chambers said implementing recommendations from the IPCA report will be an immediate priority for the new leadership team. Pannett said he is honoured by the appointment and is focused on supporting frontline staff and ‘maintaining public trust’.

  1. He was also National Commander during the 2019 Christchurch terror attacks?
Proven through extensive online forensics analysis and examination to have been a contrived False Flag psychological operation
Divulging unequivocally the fact that the weapons employed were in fact toy replica air guns
Incapable of firing live rounds nor inflicting injury nor death
    Maybe compartmentalized and exonerated?
More of the same I would say
    But time will tell

  2. Sounds great…. now how about prosecuting the lying, gang supporting, Coster?

If you continue to let corrupt policemen get away, you can bet your last dollar the crimes will restart when McAnulty becomes PM.

  3. The timing and selection for this appointment appears suspicious
Which comes hot on the heels of the Bondi False Flag
    Is this a mere coincidence?
Is this virtual signalling in a conspicuous expression of moral values for political purposes to gain social approval and traction?

Another political appointee courtesy of andrewcostalotofmoney – now known to be a chronic habitual liar appointed by liardern and co leaders of the mass convid murderers and fraudsters.

pannet is Not to be trusted / believed / depended upon to tell the truth under ANY circumstances!

Oh that’s right pannet, under bush’s so called leadership, ran the armed offenders “drill” in CHCH that was coincidentally running whilst the fake chch attacks supposedly happened..
    How convenient!

Remember the mosque owner Alnobani stated he tried the mosque doors and found they were locked so he could not get out YET right in the middle of it all he managed to drive away in his toyota will, reg number FQH875 (Reg at Alnobani Ltd at Milton street ChCH) and was the ONLY car that was waved straight through through the police cordon

    Funny that!

No go ahead and believe more media / govt / once were police lies- you fools!

The only good coming out of this is the undeniable fact that millions have seen the lies and now know the truth.

NZ Herald living up to its infamous reputation
    Which is no reputation
At the vanguard of propaganda in NZ
The same people who helped sell and make possible Christchurch and Covid
    Now selling Bondi

  6. Frankly past caring, nothing ever changes. well aside from things getting more oppressive, for the average person. I steer well clear of this lot. I see them on the street, I cross the road.
