Authorities are seeking public assistance as they investigate the death of a child in East Tāmaki, Auckland, on Sunday night.
A 37-year-old man appeared in Manukau District Court on Monday, charged with murder. Police have confirmed they are not looking for any other suspects in connection to the incident.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the Waiouru Road area, covering Highbrook and East Tāmaki, between 8:30 pm and 1:00 am on January 5.
Police are particularly interested in reports of sightings of a blue Nissan Bluebird in the vicinity during that time.
