Pope Francis, the first Latin American pontiff and leader of the Roman Catholic Church, has died at the age of 88, the Vatican confirmed on Monday.

His passing follows a recent battle with double pneumonia, though his death came unexpectedly just a day after he greeted crowds from the popemobile in St. Peter’s Square on Easter Sunday.

“Dear brothers and sisters, it is with profound sadness I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis,” Cardinal Kevin Farrell announced on Vatican television. “At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father.”

The pope had only recently resumed public appearances after being released on March 23 from a 38-day hospital stay. On Easter Sunday, he watched from the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica as an aide read aloud his call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. He also met briefly that day with U.S. Vice President JD Vance, who later expressed condolences and said, “My heart goes out to the millions of Christians all over the world who loved him.”

Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the Argentine cardinal became pope on March 13, 2013.

  1. Bishop Vigano is the only man worthy of being pope.

But alas, the church excommunicated him for speaking too much truth. About Vatican finances, about Francis, about Covid, about everything.

Here’s to whatever slimy globalist they’ll decide to replace Francis with. Bet they’ll be utterly terrible 😒

    • Yes, agree Vigano’s writing on the Vatican deep state is excellent and insightful, so has very much excluded him from election. Perhaps a good thing to have him on the outside anyway.

As to the future of Roman wickedness, that remains to be seen. Founded on a lie, the church will continue to be at the forefront of mayhem and intrigue…
