Police have launched a search operation in Kawakawa Bay, after a family group of five failed to return from a boat trip last night.
The group included one adult and four children aged between 7 and 11. An extensive overnight search has failed to find the family’s boat. An air search cannot be undertaken for now, due to adverse weather conditions.
The family’s boat is 14-foot fiberglass vessel, with an orange hull and white topside. It has a cuddy cabin with a red canopy.
If you were out on the water yesterday and may have seen a boat of this description, please contact police immediately.
