Tamaki accuses police of ‘political interference’ over Harbour Bridge march

Destiny Church leader Brian Tamaki has accused New Zealand Police of political bias and “double standards” after officers signalled they would not facilitate his group’s planned march across the Auckland Harbour Bridge on 31 January.

In a lengthy statement on social media, Tamaki claimed police told organisers they “will not support or facilitate an unpermitted march,” despite NZTA not yet ruling on the group’s formal application.

He argued this amounted to political interference, alleging police had previously assisted other demonstrations, including Toitu te Tiriti and pro-Gaza rallies, but were now blocking a “Kiwi Patriots” protest.

Tamaki also questioned whether pressure was coming from senior government ministers, and criticised Waitematā District Commander Naila Hassan—claims which police have not responded to publicly.

He further accused the police of internal failings and said the force “has no moral authority” to restrict protests.

Tamaki maintains the bridge march will go ahead regardless of whether it is approved, saying supporters will “peacefully cross” to highlight a growing movement of discontent.

  1. Yup pro Palestine march what a joke and as for the maoris who rip each other off, have ya noticed maoris -which I am one btw – the fat maoris are getting fatter both bodily and monetarily Are they helping those with no money? Hell to the no! Equal rights isn’t it! Have your protest Brian who has done more for the downtrodden then fat cat maori!

    • Agree to that. So over the radical maori being shovelled down our throats. I used to enjoy it. Now I hate the maori language and my heritage.

  2. Politicised policing here mirrors what we are seeing in Australia, Canada and most notably, the UK. Now days no community is safer with them in it. Indeed, in many cases, especially when it comes to peaceful protests they and their post nationalist, globalist, political governors, don’t like, the so called police, quickly become the source of the problem. Being obstructive, aggressive, running interference, its not a good look but then I doubt they care. Most of the genuine ones, I suspect, have left, with a rotten orchard, remaining. Actual politics is no different now.

  3. Christianity needs to be destroyed this is why. Just look to the UK where everyone else gets a free pass..By the way is that a muslim i see as a commander i assume a dei hire as we have a right to protest.
