A 22-year-old Tasman man has been sentenced to more than five years in prison after admitting to possessing, creating and distributing an extensive collection of child exploitation and bestiality material described by a judge as among the worst ever encountered.
Storm Uriah Constable-Carter pleaded guilty in the Nelson District Court to 50 charges involving objectionable publications, with offending spanning more than six years and beginning when he was 16.
Investigators uncovered more than 60,000 objectionable images and videos across nine online accounts, with over 10,000 files shared with others.
The Department of Internal Affairs’ Digital Child Exploitation Team launched its investigation in 2022 after a video depicting the sexual exploitation of a toddler was flagged in a New Zealand-based cloud storage account.
Further inquiries revealed extensive use of encrypted communications and cloud platforms to collect, curate and distribute material, as well as discussions of sexual preferences.
Judge Tony Snell said the material involved real victims, including infants and toddlers, saying that online exploitation causes lifelong harm by perpetuating abuse indefinitely through redistribution.
Starting from a 12-year sentence, the court applied discounts for Constable-Carter’s guilty plea, youth and personal circumstances, resulting in a final sentence of five years and five months’ imprisonment. He was also placed on the Child Sex Offender Register, with seized devices and material ordered destroyed.

I’m glad they got this creep! Why is it that every phone and computer has easy access to hardcore porn that corrupts our children, teens and adults? Just block all that sh*t !!
Five years for the worst ever encountered? Weak.
Not nearly as weak as McSkimming’s pathetic sentence of home detention 😡
Skimming over this indicates that plenty of bestiality thrown in would have likely guaranteed home detention.
