U.S. President Donald Trump’s flight to the World Economic Forum in Davos was interrupted on Tuesday after a technical problem prompted Air Force One to return to the Washington area.
The White House said a minor electrical issue was detected shortly after takeoff, leading the flight crew to reverse course as a precaution.
The aircraft is returning to Joint Base Andrews, where the president and his delegation are expected to transfer to another plane to continue their journey to Switzerland. A reporter travelling with the press pool said the issue was noticeable when cabin lights briefly went out after departure.
NOW: Air Force One just turned around on President Trump's flight to Davos.
This is unnerving with all going on in the world, but pray that everyone on board is well.pic.twitter.com/1kG57h23Fs
