Police have taken two further suspects into custody as the investigation continues into a series of serious assaults in Churton Park that left seven people injured last month.
A 21-year-old man is scheduled to appear in the Wellington District Court on 22 January, while a 17-year-old male will appear in the Wellington Youth Court on 27 January. The pair jointly face charges of wounding, assault with intent to injure, and common assault.
Their arrests follow the earlier charging of an 18-year-old man, who is facing multiple counts including wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault with intent to injure, and common assault. He is due to appear in the Wellington District Court on 29 January 2026.
Police say a fourth alleged offender remains outstanding.
The investigation stems from an incident on Saturday, 13 December 2025, when police were called to a Churton Park address where seven people were seriously assaulted. Initial inquiries established that the alleged offenders had been at a Mobil service station in Johnsonville about 20 minutes before the attack, allowing police to obtain CCTV footage to help identify those involved.
Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch said police were grateful for the assistance provided by the community, which has already led to multiple arrests, and are now appealing for further help to locate the remaining suspect.
The unlocated offender was described as wearing a grey hoodie, beige or grey shorts, and black sneakers on the night of the incident, and was not captured in the available images. Police believe his violent offending is likely known to people around him and are urging anyone with information about his identity to come forward.
