The Gallagher Chiefs have secured a key part of their future with All Black lock Tupou Vaa’i re-signing until the end of the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season.
A mainstay since 2020, Vaa’i has made 70 appearances for the Chiefs and earned 38 Test caps for New Zealand.
Now a senior leader, he’s captained the side this year and says staying was an easy decision, citing his strong ties to the club and region.
Chiefs coach Clayton McMillan praised Vaa’i’s everyday leadership, while NZ Rugby highlighted his growth into one of the country’s top players.
