New Zealand opener Finn Allen shattered the world record for most sixes in a T20 innings, hitting 19 during a blistering 151 off 51 balls for the San Francisco Unicorns against Washington Freedom in the opening game of the US Major League Cricket season.
Allen surpassed Chris Gayle’s previous record of 18 sixes and also set records for the fastest 150 in T20 cricket (49 balls) and the fastest T20 century by a New Zealander (34 balls).
His performance powered San Francisco to a 153-run victory and showcased his destructive form in franchise cricket.
