The Hurricanes stormed back into form with a commanding 57-12 win over the New South Wales Waratahs in Wellington.
Despite an early lead by the Waratahs through Lawson Creighton, injuries and a costly yellow card derailed their momentum. Kini Naholo’s first-half double and late hat trick powered the Hurricanes, with Asafo Aumua, Cam Roigard, Ngane Punivai, Brad Shields, and Bailyn Sullivan adding to the try tally.
The turning point came just before halftime with two quick tries, putting the game out of reach. Du’Plessis Kirifi’s breakdown brilliance continued to impress, bolstering calls for his inclusion in the All Blacks squad.
The win elevates the Hurricanes to sixth on the table as they prepare to take on the struggling Blues at Eden Park.
