Injured Boomers’ Playmaker Will McDowell-White Uncertain on Breakers’ Return

Catch up with NZ Breakers player Will McDowell-White as he recovers from a pre-Christmas finger injury.

The injury happened in training two days before Christmas, a bounce pass jarred his hand. ‘I looked down and the knuckle area on my hand was swollen like crazy.’

Coach Mody Maor confirmed McDowell-White had broken his right index finger. Generally recovery time for such an injury was 13 days to 3 weeks.

Coach and player are wary of the pitfalls in trying to rush injuries in the past.

‘It’s all mental for us. We’ve got nine games in January which is almost unheard of. We’ve been down bodies the whole year. I don’t think we’ve played with a full roster. Hopefully I should be back pretty soon and ready to go.’
