Menšík claims ASB Classic title in straight sets

Czech player Jakub Menšík has won the 2026 ASB Classic men’s singles title in Auckland, defeating Argentina’s Sebastian Baez 6–3, 7–6 after the final played at Stanley Street.

The 20-year-old third seed completed a demanding schedule that required him to contest his quarterfinal and semifinal on the same day because of rain delays, becoming the fifth-youngest winner in the tournament’s history.

Menšík dominated the opening set with a strong serving performance, while Baez forced a second-set tiebreak after recovering from an early deficit.

Menšík saved three set points in the tiebreak before closing out the match to secure his second ATP Tour title and hand Baez his first loss of the 2026 season.
