Max Verstappen claimed his first win of the 2025 Formula 1 season with a hard-fought victory at the Japanese Grand Prix, fending off relentless pressure from McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, who completed the podium.
The race at Suzuka saw Verstappen maintain the lead from pole despite strategic challenges and a near-collision with Norris in the pits. In a static but tense contest, Norris and Piastri stayed close but couldn’t make a move, while Yuki Tsunoda, racing in Lawson’s former Red Bull seat, finished 12th. Meanwhile, Liam Lawson, now driving for Racing Bulls ended the race in 17th.
