The WTA has provisionally suspended Stefano Vukov, former and recently reappointed coach of world number six Elena Rybakina, amid an investigation into alleged breaches of the organisation’s Code of Conduct.
While details of the complaint remain undisclosed, Vukov, who denies any wrongdoing, is barred from accessing player-only areas at WTA events. Vukov’s behaviour towards Russian-born Kazakhstani Rybakina has drawn criticism in the past, with some, including former doubles champion Pam Shriver, accusing him of disrespectful conduct.
Rybakina has previously defended Vukov, calling such claims “disturbing.” The suspension raises questions about Rybakina’s coaching plans, particularly regarding Goran Ivanisevic, who is currently working with her on a trial basis.
