Five boys aged between nine and 13 were hurt on Saturday morning when a gust of wind sent a jumping castle airborne at a property on Kelvin Park Drive in Bradfield, crashing it into a neighbouring fence.
NSW Ambulance station manager Tom Burnus said emergency crews arrived shortly after 9:30am to find up to six children had been on the inflatable when it lifted off.
Four boys suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in stable condition, while a fifth was treated at the scene and did not require hospital care.
SafeWork NSW has launched an investigation into the incident.

A quick internet search reveals that dozens of children worldwide have been killed and hundreds injured by winds lifting unsecured bouncy castles into the air. No excuse for operators not knowing the danger and ensuring that bouncy castles are securely tied down before allowing kids to play on them.
