ESPN pundit admits he was ‘a fool’ for voting for Kamala Harris

ESPN host Stephen A. Smith voiced regret over his decision to vote for Kamala Harris, admitting he and others “feel like d— fools” for their support.

During an appearance on Real Time With Bill Maher Smith criticised Harris’ rise to prominence, arguing that her abject failure in the 2020 Democratic primary and her lack of resonance with voters made her an unsuitable candidate.

He questioned the legitimacy of her nomination and highlighted the public’s skepticism toward her campaign, contrasting it with Barack Obama’s successful 2008 bid. Reflecting on the broader political landscape, Smith pointed out that many Americans viewed Donald Trump as more centrist compared to the Democratic Party’s progressive shift.

Smith also slammed the Democratic Party’s messaging, particularly its focus on ‘woke’ identity politics and cultural issues over pressing concerns for voters. He labelled the 2024 election results as a referendum on the party, saying that Americans had rejected its “progressive” tilt.

Despite not voting for Trump, Smith acknowledged the public’s frustrations with the left and its leadership. A vocal critic of “liberal” figures like Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey, Smith has also hinted at a potential presidential bid, saying he was open to the idea if presented with a “viable path” to the White House.
